Photographic Technical Data
1. Photo Equipment Used All pictures were taken either with a Nikon FM2 or a Canon IXUS Z70 APS camera. The lenses used (in the case of pictures taken with the Nikon) are a Tamron 28-200 f3.8, or a Tamron 200-400 f5.6. For color pictures taken with the APS camera, Kodak Ultra APS film was used. For color pictures taken with the Nikon, Kodak Gold 100 film was used. For black and white pictures taken with the Nikon, Kodak Black and White+ 400 film was used.
2. Digital Scanning For use in this web site, 4x5 originals were scanned at 1200x1200 resolution with an HP ScanJet 4100C scanner. The images were then scaled back to a size that fits the page (usually 400-500 pixels in its broadest side), using an image manipulation program called The GIMP. Black and white pictures taken with Kodak Black and White+ film can be color-shifted in the laboratory. For this reason, all scanned black and white pictures were converted to 256 levels of gray after scanning.
